A HERITAGE TO REMEMBER: #TELL ME

Assalamualaikum and Hi people!

Let's continue to my journey to Jelebu !

After a looooooooong journey and I've reached Jelebu safely , I start my first task which is collecting data about the Master of Destar by conducting an interview with the Haji Mustaffa.

Like what I've told in my previous post a little bit about this Magic Hand Man, yes he is locally from Negeri Sembilan which is his parents is from Minang and Jelebu respectively.

He start learn about how to flip the Destar by informal learning which is only by only viewing his father do infront of him and using the old newspaper at the age of 6 years old.

Haji Mustaffa says:

".. Of course when you are in childhood you're really interested want to try something new and if possible , what is adult make you want also interrupt to do so. And that is me and my spirit at that age want to help my father because of seems like the rest of my sibling are not interested to sit and learn how to do the Destar. actuallt this is my family sources of income that feed me and my siblings everyday and yet I really want to help my father to continue this heritage until my last breathe.." .

I was startle at once hearing the story about his background. Yes, it is so meaningful and touched my little heart when I'm hearing that he want to help his father. For me, at that age in my time I just think about playing and having fun with all my friends but for him at that age, he start help his father in making of Destar, so goodddd people to having that spirit!

oooohh time ! ... if the clock needle can turn back, I wish that I could turn back in my time at the age of 6 and I wil help my parents too!

..he was telling me about his family background and about his parents..

...yeah, at first I was actually awkward want to question him , but yet he is actually a friendly guy lahh people ! and soooo comell ! grrrrr...

and we keep talking , and me keep on asking him this, there, that and what not .. every word that he said, he always kept remembering his father sacrifies was actually really touched me sometimes. Well, according to Haji Mustaffa that comfortable to be called as Ustaz, he is not actually automatic-gifted the talent to flip the Destar.

Thousand of tries and effort also have been put before he reached this level.

Try, failed, try, failed and yet now he is really doing good in the work of flip the Destar nicely. Thats what we called..

Haji Mustaffa commonly being called to conduct the heritage exhibition at the museum, to do the demonstration and to conduct the short course workshop on how to flip the Destar.
